I am so sorry that it has been two weeks since my last post! My life is insanely busy at the moment. I've hardly had time to sit down and think, let alone write. Maybe that's why I've felt so higgledy-piggledy lately...
Anyways, I have a poem to share. I wrote this back in 2010 before I really started writing poetry like I do now. It is still one of my favorites. Maybe because it came out of a season of brokenness. Or maybe because it defines my passion for words and music and rhythm. Or maybe just because.
A poem is a song without the tune
A silent melody
Softly to the heart it sings
A quiet remembering
A song is what you would hear
If the heart could speak
That's where rhythm comes from -
The quiet heart's beat
Listen to the rhythm
Emotion's purest form
The heart beats strong in happiness
And shallowly when torn
Feeling not expressed
Stay bottled up inside
This results only in heartache
And caused us to hide
So release your inner struggles
And in your joys stand tall
The best way to open up your heart
Is a poem after all
Oh!!!! I love it. A poem after all... Gives me the shivers. I think I am on the way to really liking poetry. REALLY. :D

DeleteBeautiful poem. I know how hard times can be the springing ground for some very heartfelt songs, poems, and cries. I would love to read more of your poetry.
